Late night shake up coming to NBC?

NBC’s decision to move Jay Leno to primetime television has not been as successful as the network hoped. Though the show is cheaper to produce than scripted shows, it is not drawing in viewers, which is in turn hurting NBC’s affiliates, according to several published reports. Leno’s show leads into the news for the affiliates, and some have lost viewers. Click here to read the Los Angeles Times account of what’s going on. The network would have to pay big penalties to Leno and “Tonight Show” host Conan O’Brien if either ends up leaving the network or has his contract violated.
