In honor of President’s Day

Though this blog is usually dedicated to arts and entertainment in Owensboro and around the country, I wanted to share an interesting article I came across in the Lexington Herald-Leader. Tom Eblen, a Herald-Leader columnist, writes about Horace Holley, who was president of Transylvania University from 1818 to 1827. Holley met and corresponded with several U.S. Presidents, including Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe and Andrew Jackson (in the years before his election). Transylvania University has several of Holley’s letters and letters addressed to Holley.
