Area residents have chance to audition for television show

A casting call for NBC‘s reality show The Biggest Loser is Saturday in Louisville.

The event is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern time in rooms 102 and 103 of the Kentucky International Convention Center, 221 S. Fourth St., Louisville. People ages 18 and older can attend the casting call.

Representatives of the television show are looking for teams of two or individuals who have a minimum of 100 pounds to lose, according to a press release. Potential contestants must bring a nonreturnable photo, the press release states.

People selected for the show compete for a chance to win $250,000. For more information, visit http://www.thebiggestlosercasting.com.

What will happen with ‘Idol’?

News broke over the weekend that American Idol was probably losing two more judges: Ellen Degeneres resigned, and it is rumored that Kara DioGuardi‘s contract won’t be renewed. Simon Cowell previously announced he wouldn’t be returning for the next season. The Los Angeles’ Times Ann Powers commented on the situation on the newspaper’s Show Tracker blog.

The latest word is that Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and singer/actress Jennifer Lopez will join the show. Here is a list of 10 music critics the L.A. Times thinks could make good Idol judges.
