There are several live performances scheduled at Owensboro venues in early 2011.
All Shook Up is on Jan. 18 at the RiverPark Center as part of the BB&T Broadway at the RiverPark series. It is a musical comedy built around a number of songs made famous by Elvis Presley, according to AllMusicals.
Carnivale, a retrospective of the works of Neil DiTeresa, professor of art at Berea College, is Jan. 22-Feb. 20 at the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art. The exhibition includes paintings and drawings by the artist as well as puppets from the Appalachian Puppetry Caravan that were created by the artist and his students. A marionette festival will be Jan. 21-23.
Theatre Workshop of Owensboro hosts two performances on Jan. 28. It is opening night for its production of The Real Inspector Hound, which runs through Feb. 12 at the Trinity Centre. Leon Redbone is performing that same night at The Opryhouse.
Owensboro Symphony Orchestra‘s Jan. 29 performance, The Drama, features soloists J. Patrick Rafferty on violin and Kevin Bate on cello. There will be performances of pieces by Beethoven, Stravinsky and Brahms.
