Monday’s entertainment round-up

Billie Joe Armstrong, the front man for Green Day, is in the midst of his second run on Broadway in American Idiot, a show featuring his band’s music. The New York Times reviewed the show and took time for a Q&A session with the singer/songwriter.

Entertainment Weekly reports the return of both Gwyneth Paltrow and Lady Gaga music to Glee.

ABC announced the renewals of several television shows, including Grey’s Anatomy and Modern Family, according to TVLine. No word yet on the fates of Desperate Housewives or Brothers and Sisters.

The Los Angeles Times reports on the evolution of the portrayal of teenagers and young women in recent films, including True Grit and Winter’s Bone. Jennifer Lawrence, who starred in Winter’s Bone, is a Louisville native.

In other news from the L.A. Times, two former Jeopardy champions will be competing against a computer for a $1 million prize.
