Author finally writes promised novel

If you’re like me, you’ve probably not heard of author Barnaby Conrad. He’s had just one best seller, 1952’s Matador, but he’s kept writing. The Second Life of John Wilkes Booth, his 35th novel, was recently published. The New York Times published an engaging story about Conrad, who promised renowned author Sinclair Lewis he would write the novel, which is about Booth escaping to the frontier after assassinating President Lincoln.
